Hi, my name is Vicki.
I hope you enjoy this site about the true
"American Pit Bull Terrier".
I made this site to, first, show off my dogs,
Tigger and Piper. Second, to show that, the American PitBull Terrier is not some media monster, the way the media portrays them to be.
In the right hands these dogs are loving, loyal family companions. Hopefuly this site can help new owners with questions you may have, or current owners, to talk about your dogs.
I've owned This breed for a long time, and like new owners, have made some some drastic mistakes, these are mistakes I would like to help new owners prevent.
Being responsible, and not bringing negative attention to our dogs, not giving towns or counties a reason to want to take them away is the key to responsible dog ownership. It's way too easy for a town or county to create BSL, we as owners have to be extra diligent in caring for our breed of choice. Just recently in the town of Ark BSL has just hit, these people now have 10 days to rehome their beloved Rotties, Pits and Dobies. So sad. I would just like to dispel a couple of other myths of this breed.
These dogs do not,I repeat, do not have locking jaws. They are tenecious, and very strong, hence, the reason for them to be able to grab and hold on. Another myth, never confuse "animal aggression" with "human aggression", they are not the same thing. A PitBull going after a dog, does not mean it will harm a child.
Take a look at "Petey" from the Little Rascals. This dog was around children day in day out, making a t.v. show, never once has he ever tried to harm one of those chidren. There are also three SAR dogs owned by
Christine Crawford Dakota, Cheyenne and Tahoe.
These dogs help to find lost children, missing adults all the time. If they where some kind of attack monster these dogs would not be able to be used for such work. In this site i'll show off two of my other babies who have gone to rainbow bridge Sadie and Noey.

Is dog aggression the same thing as human aggression?
